Biblins Bushcraft (Graeme Wardle adventure-training trading as)
The outdoors is our passion, bushcraft is our tool and our craft
Now based here at Biblins in the heart of the Forest of Dean, the ideal setting to inspire you to push that comfort zone just a little.
Between us we jointly have a worrying sixty plus years experience in delivering outdoor learning.
From delivering BELA (Basic Expedition Leader Award) to trips to the Alps. From Forest school with primary aged children to countryside management often with the more challenging young people.
Meet the team:
Sue as ever remains a mainstay to our business from admin to Bannock bread maker, to mad woman chaperon for the last fifteen or more years. Around 2007 Sue brought balance to the force by qualifying as a Level 3 Forest School Practitioner thus giving our existing outdoor programmes that label that schools often need. In between being mother, school librarian and reluctant housewife, Sue has managed to keep a youthful enthusiasm for outdoor learning.
Graeme has always had real passion for the outdoors, mountaineering and paddling in his youth but wild camping and especially bushcraft and survival techniques from childhood in his local woodland and Saddleworth moorland.
As well as being a qualified Bushcraft leader Graeme is a very experienced Outdoor Pursuits Instructor, Qualified Teacher and Youth Worker holding a raft of outdoor qualifications (CertEd, ML, SPA, BCU K2 GNAS, L3 ncfe bushcraft leader, L2 Mtbike) and APIOL, (Accredited Practitioner of the Institute of Outdoor Learning)
Now a permanent member of the Forest of Dean team.
Biblins Bushcrafts newest old timer.
Steve has been a valued member of our outdoor ed team for over a decade but as from March 2012 will join us as a regular full time instructor. As well as the same passion for all things wild and outdoors, Steve has been a Youth worker and Project Manager and Probation Officer but of recent years has been managing his own building company. In addition to his hard skills and experience, his ability to engage and relax sometimes challenging young people has proved invaluable on some projects. We've managed to twist his arm to join us in a more full time capacity. His other passion, boozing, has led him recently into pub management but hes juggling things quite well at the moment. see the testimonials.
Katie "the fascinator" (see girl with fire above) has moved up the ranks too. Always the reluctant outdoor girl. She is now responsible for all admin, so its all her fault!
Mikie (sleeping on the job, or to the team "teachers pet" and why not?)
In addition to campsite support, Mikie is indeed a budding apprentice with a love for Forest School and a determination to be champion lady bowdrill fire starter! Mikie, a farmer’s daughter and real country girl and nature lover is Biblins Bushcraft official photographer, and a regular reliable support to our courses.
We know we can make your stay a memorable one
