Well, we are under way, having left the Biblins last Sunday, and already thinking about what we have forgotten and which of our half dozen cases contains what? After the bank saying otherwise on the phone we discovered yesterday that you cant buy Guyanese dollars outside the country, so plans change again as our local minders from the airport to hotel to ready for the Forest trip are expecting immediate payment.
The only other serious hitch so far was that my jungle boots did not materialise so I'm the only one with neither boots nor willies.
Plans are flexible and I'm determined to believe that I'll find something there as we have literally no time to do anything now.
I've got the all important duck tape with me so nothing is impossible.
Strange isn't it? I'm 54 next and, though I'm no trail blazer, I have had my, all be it occasionally slightly sanitized, share of adventure in mountains and in a few far away places. There have even been a couple of epic events that were pretty close things. Why does my mother choose now to grill question and caution me? Bless her cotton socks.
Well, nothing to report now till we arrive and put the finishing touches to a couple of Jungle adventures to make Steve jealous.
