What a busy couple of weeks
Steve Sue and myself have been flat out delivering short sharp survival courses for two prestigious boarding schools, Just got a lighter week next week then plenty of down time. No complaints though, thanks for the business guys and the cracking feedback.
Whats New? Well, I've now tested my theory about the connection between Dogs mercury and wild garlic. Basically, when the Ramsons (wild garlic) dies off in the late spring the Dog Mercury (poisonous) takes over. Everywhere I've tried so far I have found the little single bulbs that are definitely garlic. Interesting to check if this is a local phenomenon or a trustworthy relationship?
Aside from the sudden appearance of a lovely load of Oyster mushrooms (tasty fried) and some rather tasteless puffballs (usually taste nice) the mushrooms in our immediate woodland have been poor so far. Oh! except for a couple of tired out but super specimenes of parasol, just after Saturdays rain.
Well, back to the sunshine. What an autumn.
