From April every second and fourth Saturday afternoon are dedicated to a very focused four hour learning session for those keen to experience the essentials of survival and bushcraft and get some hands on coaching too. Only mature engaged children will be welcome and the session will be an ideal taster for teachers and youth leaders who are contemplating practitioner training.
Taster sessions from only £15 per head
Group bookings for families, Schools and Colleges, at a date and time that suits you, designed specifically for you and your groups age or ability. Lesson plans and learning outcomes designed around your students. (Minimum charge of £120 per session)
Half day and short courses from £120. Taster days (full days including BBQ & refreshments) for your group of 6 to 10 persons, from £260.
A typical session will include shelter building, fire lighting and sharp tool/knife work.
In all cases, a kettle and drinks are always available.
Family Overnighters from £295 per family of 4
(£295+£90 for night accompaniment, not usually optional, add £49 per extra child)
Friday or Saturday nights. (dates available throughout the year)
Arriving at around 4pm we provide a full afternoon and evening of learning and fun till approximately 8.30pm then a BBQ supper around the fire to end the day. A relaxing or action packed breakfast, your choice, and a morning of activities till you leave at around noon.
You will learn the basics of fire lighting and management, shelter building and knife use.
Full 2 Day Weekend Course for Schools Colleges and Youth groups starting at £480
Over 20 hours of expert instruction and activities
(over 30 hours submerged in a woodland setting).
From arriving in the morning through the day and evening then from about 9 am the next day through till 4 pm. A thoroughly action packed weekend. We will provide some BBQ stuffs for your supper and breakfast but you will need packed lunches and snacks for the two days. An extra £90 charge for groups requiring overnight cover (obligatory for most groups)
Wellies or walking boots; midge repellent; warm, dry and waterproof clothing, preferably old stuff, sleeping bag and ground mat; mug, water bottle and at least your own spoon. You may bring your own tent and other camping equipment. We will provide waterproof sheets to enhance your shelter and all knives and tools; we also provide some local sausages and pitta bread for BBQ suppers and tea and coffee are always available. We do not cater for special dietary requirements. You must notify us of any medical conditions.
These are wilderness immersion courses so our hygiene and toilet arrangements will reflect this. Ask!
Definitions of group/family
Groups: usually eight persons including your own qualified teacher or youth leader. Overnight cover by Biblins staff may be required depending on group and the experience of your attending staff.
Family: typically two parents/legal guardian and their two children. Overnight cover is usually obligatory for insurance reasons and cannot be discounted.
